40 Hour Laser Didactic Course

The 40 Hour Laser Didactic course is presented as an “On-Demand/Virtual” course.

The course link is emailed once registration is completed and paid.

60 days are granted to complete the course in its entirety.

If the course is not completed within the 60 days, the Laser Intern Clinician must communicate with the laser instructor for any class extensions.

Additional fees may apply for class extensions.

All possibilities will be made to maintain the schedule as it is written. A course change that interferes with a Laser Intern Clinician’s private schedule will be discussed at the request of the student. The daily schedule may change to accommodate guest presenters & student needs.

24/10 HANDS-ON PRACTICAL COURSE

The hands-on practical portion of the Paramedical Cosmetic Laser Program is presented on campus located at 3377 S. Price Road, Chandler, Arizona 85248. The Laser Intern Clinician participates in the daily activities of a real working medspa practice; KEFI Advanced Laser and Skin. A variety of laser devices are utilized to execute cosmetic laser procedures on actual laser patient models which are scheduled for all types of cosmetic laser procedures from hair removal to skin rejuvenation to tattoo removal.

24/10 translates to 24 hours for general laser device information AND 10 live model applications.

The course dates are scheduled yearly. Check the schedule for the dates. It is noted that, at times there may be a need to change, cancel or reschedule a class due to factors beyond the Intern Clinician must be present for the total of 24 hours and complete 10 live model application in order to graduate.

Laser Intern Clinician’s that have not completed the 24/10 or missed a schedule date, may complete the course at any other schedule date of the same course and day missed; (example day 1, day 2, or day 3 of the 24 hours).

Laser Intern Clinician’s may bring their own model for the course being instructed or models may be provided for the practical hands-on portion.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

MALE offers courses in various laser modalities. Our program is designed to certify Laser Intern Clinicians in the fundamentals of laser education as prescribed by the Arizona Health Department of Health Services (ADHS). In addition, our medical spa environment allows the Laser Intern Clinician the real-world hands-on practical experience as they shadow and actively participate with our patients at Kefi Advanced Laser and Skin medspa. Our curriculum prepares the Laser Intern Clinician for entry level employment in the use of cosmetic lasers.

COURSE MOTIVATION:

At this time, laser clinicians are in great demand in the aesthetics
and cosmetic medical community. Paramedical Cosmetic Laser Technicians requires the same basic training but with a medical influence. Adding these credentials and certifications to the attributes of the individuals in the cosmetic or medical practices provides the opportunities of higher pay and advanced employment opportunities in both the aesthetics and medical/cosmetic fields.

MALE Paramedical Cosmetic Laser Program is a comprehensive laser program that offers a series of laser courses in the sciences and the technical fundamental skills of cosmetic laser application for skin tightening, skin rejuvenation, pigment reduction, vascular, hair removal and laser safety. MALE educational program is presented specifically for the cosmetic and medical personnel.

The program includes the following selection of courses:

Paramedical Cosmetic Laser Program (full program)

40 Hr. Laser Didactic Course

24/10 Laser Hair Removal Course (24 hours to include 10 applications)

24/10 Laser Other Cosmetic Procedures Course (24 hours to include 10 applications)

8 Hr. Laser Safety Officer Course

PROGRAM PHASES

The laser curriculum is presented in two phases:

Phase 1-40 hour Didactic

Phase 2-24-hour class with 10 hands-on instructions for hair removal, followed by the 24-hour class with 10 hands-on instructions for other cosmetic procedures.

Upon successfully completing the initial 88 hours of both laser didactic and laser hands-on practical training, the Laser Intern Clinician MUST:

complete all required hours for both didactic and hands-on practical application

complete all chapter test and homework assignments with an 80% GPA

pass the state approved final written exam (issued by MALE) with an 80% or higher

receive a Certificate of Completion as a Certified Laser Technologist by MALE and Laura Langlas, CLT Laser Instructor.

pay all course fees

complete and pay fees for the Arizona state Certified Laser Technician application to the Arizona

Department of Health Services.

The Laser Intern Clinician will be prepared to enter the workforce as a competent Certified Laser Technician seeking entry-level employment utilizing a variety of cosmetic laser devices.
