About Course
Any professional beginning their career in Laser & Light Therapies in the state of Arizona, must begin with the required 40 Hours Laser Didactic course. This course focuses on 40-hours of theory in laser and light physics and its relationship to the skin. Classes are presented with classroom lecture, audio power point presentation, virtual discussions and academic evaluations.
This course is open to all skin care and clinical aesthetics professionals, as well as students currently enrolled in the medical or beauty fields or individuals changing careers with no medical or beauty background. This course serves as a pre-requisite to all other laser classes for certification by Arizona Department of Health Services.
By the end of the 40 Hour Laser Didactic course, the Laser Intern Clinician will have a clear understanding of the following topics:
- Laser Laws and Agencies that control the laser industry
- Biophysics of Lasers and laser devices and other light therapies
- Skin anatomy and its reaction to laser and light therapies.
- Skin types, conditions, and disorders and how lasers can assist in restoring the skin
- Consultation, Skin Analysis and understand Skin Fitzpatrick and Glogau Scale
- Charting, Documentation and Clinical Photography for the area treated
- Client Protection and Sanitation
- Laser safety measures

The 40 Hour Laser Didactic course is presented as an “On-Demand/Virtual” course.
The course link is emailed once registration is completed and paid.
60 days are granted to complete the course in its entirety.
If the course is not completed within the 60 days, the Laser Intern Clinician must communicate with the laser instructor for any class extensions.
Additional fees may apply for class extensions.
All possibilities will be made to maintain the schedule as it is written. A course change that interferes with a Laser Intern Clinician’s private schedule will be discussed at the request of the student. The daily schedule may change to accommodate guest presenters & student needs.
