Prerequisite-40 Hour Didactic Certification and laser hair reduction.

This course is a comprehensive practical hands-on laser course for the instruction and application of specific cosmetic laser procedures, other than hair reduction. The Laser Intern Clinician has the opportunity to choose from the categories listed below. The class entails 24 hours of theory in the specific skin condition and laser, IPL or radio frequency devices. A minimum of 10 hands-on practical applications are performed on live models under the direction of a certified laser instructor. 

 

Each category requires 24 hours of on-campus theory instruction to include 10 practical applications during that time.

  • Skin Tightening – Laser Peel, Non-Invasive Skin Resurfacing, Skin Rejuvenation, Wrinkle Reduction, Cellulite Reduction
  • Vascular – Acquired Adult Hemangioma, Facial Erythema, Spider Vein Reduction, Telangiectasia
  • IPL – Photofacial, Ephelis Reduction, Solar Lentigo Reduction, Acne
  • Tattoo Removal – Non-Ablative Tattoo Removal

What you'll learn

Laser Intern Clinician will have a clear understanding of the following:

  • Anatomy & physiology of the skin and laser/IPL response
  • History of treatment
  • Types lesions in each category
  • Target chromophore
  • Laser/IPL safety
  • IPL and laser device settings
  • Consultation, proper client selection, skin typing and charting
  • Pre and post treatments for laser/IPL
  • Face and body treatment application
  • Indications and contraindications of treatment by laser or IPL

With over thirty-eight years as an aesthetics educator, Isabel took the aesthetics department out of the cosmetology hair school and gave it an industry of its own in Arizona. In 1997 she opened the very first school licensed by the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology, National Aesthetics Institute-Scottsdale. This opened a whole new industry for the state and set the standards for aesthetics education.
